Job Function
The Technical Developer is responsible for ensuring consistent and superior fit of all SUGOI’s product lines in addition to the development of all domestic products including patterns and spec sheets.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
- Develop all patterns, spec sheets, bill of materials, care content labels/stickers, export descriptions and other information for prototypes, rep samples, production, and special makes
- Create and maintain standard blocks ensuring consistent fit
- Create and maintain spec measurement and grading templates to ensure consistency
- Prioritize and maintain deadlines with prototype patterns and samples
- Utilize innovative and creative problem solving techniques in accomplishing specific design elements
- Provide information and approved sample for fabric utilization, labor time, and costing
- Supervise & support Sample Coordinator and Sample Sewer
- Development of samples for test fabrics
- Responsible for scheduling fit sessions for prototypes and size set samples and critique for fit and styling coordinating input from Designers, Developers, Product Development Manager and Design Operations Manager to determine prototype changes
- Issue accurate production samples for Rep Sample production
- Approve rep production samples prior to shipment
- Prepare patterns and approve production sample for grading
- Prioritize and maintain production deadlines of completed patterns and finalized spec sheets
- Work closely with Designers, Sample Coordinator, and Sample Sewers to develop quality products in accordance with SUGOI standards
- Develop construction methods working closely with Production Supervisors and Sample Coordinator that are efficient for production and cost effective while maintaining Design integrity
- Assist and resolve any concerns from the production floor working closely with Production Supervisor
- Providing measurements of styles for Key account purposes and other information to support Customer Service
- Notifying various departments of engineering changes of production styles
- Maintain care content information for all styles
- Design department orientation for new hires from other departments
- Continuously streamline design processes and procedures that will facilitate final design integrity and accurate fit
- Other duties and projects as assigned
Minimum Qualifications:- Minimum 5 years of technical pattern drafting experience in the active sport market combined with a related degree/diploma in Fashion Design
- Proficient computer skills specifically with Gerber CAD, MS Office (Word, Excel and Outlook) and Adobe Illustrator
- Comprehensive understanding of garment construction/production, fit and aesthetics
- Knowledge of technical fabrics and their functional purpose
- Very high knowledge of cycling, running and triathlon – race background ideal
- Demonstrated initiative, follow-through and problem-solving ability
- Detailed and accuracy oriented with strong organizational skills
- Strong multi-tasking and time management skills
- Positive team player
- Goal and deadline driven with an independent, results-oriented attitude
- Excellent interpersonal, communication (written and verbal) and presentation skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-volume, and often fast-changing environment

Physical Demands:The person in this position will be required to work in a fast-paced office setting with frequent interruptions and with the need to deal with a great diversity of people. Work hours are standard with some weekend and evening work as needed. Occasional travel required. Regular attendance is required.
