04-Jul-2008

July 26th, 2008 marks the day when Patrick Murphy, a cancer survivor, will mount his bike and ride across Canada to raise funds for cancer research. SUGOI Performance Apparel is a proud sponsor of this inspiring endeavor.

On August 4th, 2002, Patrick Murphy was diagnosed with an aggressive skin cancer. Despite a bleak prognosis, Patrick decided to fight for his life. Almost six years later, Patrick, now a cancer survivor, will pedal coast to coast across Canada, from Vancouver to Halifax, for the Pedal Against Cancer event. This journey is not only to raise funds for five Canadian cancer research centers, but to give hope to anyone whose lives have been affected by cancer.

The Pedal Against Cancer (PAC) fundraising event will last 45 days, cover more than 6,500 km, and include 5 main public day rides:
  • Vancouver, July 26
  • Calgary, Aug. 2
  • Toronto, Aug. 24
  • Montreal, Aug. 30
  • Halifax, Sept. 8

SUGOI is a proud sponsor of this amazing effort and invites other partners to join this hope driven network. SUGOI will be providing jerseys for the Pedal Against Cancer event.

Stan Mavis, president of SUGOI, calls Patrick’s story “inspiring,” and adds how “proud SUGOI is to be a part of Pedal Against Cancer.” SUGOI’s mission is to fuel personal bests, and to support athletes who inspire others on a daily basis. Patrick Murphy certainly goes above and beyond that, and Mavis is excited that SUGOI will get the opportunity to play a part in Murphy’s journey.
