"The Sugoi Versa is a lightweight water resistant jacket that converts to a gilet. The two raglan sleeves are actually made as one piece, and attach to the body of the jacket using 10 magnets situated around the neck and armpits. This makes them very quick to remove, and after a little practice we’ve even managed to learn how to detach them on the bike without having to stop.
It’s much quicker than having to faff about with zip-off arms and you don’t have to worry about losing one arm either. It’s a clever and quirky bit of design and we really like it. The cut is semi-fitted and a little boxy but this leaves plenty of room for extra layers. There’s a dropped back to help keep your butt dry and a nice addition of a soft fleece-lined collar.
The outer fabric is water resistant, but we found it went further than that – it held up really well in heavy downpours and beaded off water. It’s also thin with no inner coating so it feels great next to the skin and breathes well. The large mesh panel at the rear also helps with airflow. Other features include a rear zip pocket and two up front. A 3M Scotchlite print front and rear with reflective piping around the arms and an adjustable drawcord hem top things off.
