Cross is HERE. Get in to it! And with that we look back and celebrate this year's season kick off of the US Pro Cross Calendar in Rochester, NY.
A dry and dusty start to the year was in store for Team Cannondale p/b Cyclocrossworld.com as temperatures soared into the 90's on this humid September day (that's over 30 Celcius). Racing took place in a new venue at Genesee Valley Park, with half the course grassy fields where speeds were high and the other half twisty wooded trails with steep run ups.
Riders stayed loose in the trailer as nerves were bound to run high for the hotly anticipated start to the season.

Team riders more than stepped up to meet the challenge. Over 2 days of racing, Elite Women's breakout athlete Kaitie Antonneau podiumed twice, taking the win on day 1, while teammate Emma White took 2nd place to complete the 1-2 punch.

The Elite Men's race was next with Stephen Hyde and teammate Curtis White jumping out to an early lead.

Hyde led the men's CdaleCXworld team taking a 3rd place spot on day 1 and then surpassing his effort with a sprint finish to 2nd place on day 2, bested only by to reigning national champ Jeremy Powers, in a nail bitter finish.

An awesome start to the season for this young team. We're hungry for much more racing ahead.
